Book: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Pages: 397-491
In these pages of the book, Harry and Ron had their first quiditich match. Of course it had to be against Slytherin. Harry's enemy was on that team, Malfoy. This match was Ron's first and the first game of the season. Ron was extremeley nervous and during breakfast, right before the game, everyone at the Slytherin table wore badges saying "Weasley's our King". It intimadated him so much, that he ate nothing for breakfast even though Harry encouraged him too. I think the Slytherins are showing Ron's weakness and using it against him. During the whole quiditch match, the Slytherin's had a chant about Ron and that totally threw him of his game. He was basically the goalie and let every single attempt in. I think the Slytherins are being very rude and shouldn't be able to chant about someone on the opposing team. I'm surprised no teacher said anything about this, because if I were I teacher I would ban all the chanting and rude remarks. It's not fair and bad sportmanship. In the end, Harry caught the snitch which gave Gryffindor 150 points, winning the game. It was a close catch between the two seekers, Harry and Malfoy. After the game, Malfoy was being a sore loser and saying very mean remarks about the Weasley family. This ended in Harry punching Malfoy and being sent to Professor McGonagall's office, the Head of Gryffindor. As I mentioned in a previous post, Harry has anger management problems. I'm glad that he tried to stand up for Ron and his family, but punching Malfoy will just leave him more trouble. I don't think Harry ever thinks before he acts.

Professor Umbridge, of corse, got involved in Harry's punishment. She banned him from playing quiditch ever again, along with Fred and George who were involved in the fight. To enforce the rule, she locked up their brooms in her office. I couldn't believe someone would be able to do that after just a fight. I know fights are not the right way to solve problems, but Professor Umbridge went to far. Of course this is nothing new because she always does. Harry's life is her target and she'll do anything she can to make sure he doesn't get what he wants. Angelina was very very angry to find out three of the seven Gryffindor players were off the team. Angelina seems like the person I can most relate to. She is strict and lays down the laws. If someone messes them up though, she'll get very angry. All of her actions were predictable, but expected. If I were Angelina, I would be very very regretful of putting Harry on the team, excpet for that he has amazing talent. First, Harry misses a whole week of practice, then he misses another one, then the quiditch team might've not been able to continue, because Professor Umbridge's rule, and lastly, he got kicked of the team. This would be very aggravating for anyone. Finally, after a six month absence, Hagrid, a close friend of the Harry, Ron, and Hermione's, returned to Hogwarts. Immediatley they went to visit him. He told them his story of his adventures, which I found quite interesting.

Harry had a terrible dream about Ron's father. He was tossing and turning all night. I can relate to this because I have been told I'm a restless sleeper. I've never had nightmare before that was as horrific as Harry's was. In his dream, he saw himself being a snake and eating Mr. Weasley. Ron woke him up in the middle of the night and brought him to Dumbledore's office. Harry told him of the dream there and said it wasn't a dream, but it seemed like it was actually happening. Dumbledore found out that what Harry saw in his mind actually did happen and Mr. Weasley was rushed to the hospital. After reading this part, I could definitley tell the book was fantasy. No one in real life has a dream and then it comes true the very minute you have it. I didn't think it was a coincidence, though. Harry seemed to be in the same room as Mr.Weasley as a snake attacked him. I thought this part of the boook was kind of wierd, but also very interesting. Once I read it, I thought Harry had some kind of magical power that he could see things as they were happening. I then imagined if I could do that and I realized I wouldn't want to have that power. There are just some things in the world I don't want to know about and I definitley wouldn't want to have a dream about them as they happen. I'm very curious to see what will happen to Mr. Weasley, and if he's okay.
